My beautiful Golden Retriever, Bella, has to take Heartgard Plus year round. After getting her from a friend who was moving, I took her to the vet only to find out that she had heartworms.
She had to undergo heartworm treatment which was very difficult for her. It was also very expensive. When you use Heartgard Plus year round, it is much easier on both your dog and your bank account. You should also have your dog tested yearly for heartworms.
Like all medications, Heartgard Plus may not be always 100 percent effective, but it is much better to use this preventative measure.
